The raw material obtained by grinding the raw materials thoroughly is fed from the preheater to the rotary kiln and baked at about 1450° C. The rotary kilns used in modern cement production are the largest industrial furnaces in the world with diameters of 4-8 meters and lengths up to 80 meters. Nowadays, the calcined rotary kilns are shortened and their rotational speed is increased.
